As part of this year’s Christmas celebrations, the Brownedge community once again demonstrated its generosity and compassion by organising a whole‑school food collection to support local families in need. Pupils were encouraged to bring in tins, packets, and essential items, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Last week, our Head Boy, Ace and Head Girl, Erin had the honour of representing the school as they delivered several boxes of donations to the local food bank. The pair were warmly welcomed by volunteers, who took the time to show them how the food bank operates and explained the vital role it plays in supporting vulnerable individuals and families across the community.

The visit offered a valuable insight into the dedication of the volunteers who work tirelessly—especially during the busy winter months—to ensure that no one in the area goes without basic necessities. Both pupils expressed how inspiring it was to see the impact that the school’s contributions will have on local people.

Staff at the food bank shared their gratitude for the generosity shown by Brownedge pupils, families, and staff, noting that donations like these make a significant difference during the festive season.

The school extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed. Your kindness has helped spread the true spirit of Christmas and provided meaningful support to those who need it most.
