The school was buzzing with festive cheer as families, pupils, staff, and members of the wider community gathered for our annual Christmas Market in support of St Catherine’s Hospice. The event, which has become a much‑loved tradition, once again proved to be a wonderful celebration of togetherness, generosity, and seasonal spirit.
Visitors were greeted by an impressive array of stalls, many run by talented local businesses showcasing handmade crafts, festive gifts, sweet treats, and unique creations. The variety on offer meant there was something for everyone, and the hall was filled with the joyful hum of shoppers browsing, chatting, and supporting independent traders.
One of the highlights of the evening was Santa’s Grotto, which drew excited queues of younger pupils eager to share their Christmas wishes. The grotto, beautifully decorated and brought to life by staff and volunteers, added a magical touch that delighted families throughout the event.
No Christmas Market would be complete without delicious food, and Mrs Kenny’s famous turkey butties once again lived up to their reputation. The aroma alone drew crowds, and many visitors commented that it simply wouldn’t feel like the Brownedge Christmas Market without them.
The atmosphere throughout the event was warm and lively, with the community coming together not only to enjoy the festivities but also to support a cause close to many hearts. All proceeds from the market will go directly to St Catherine’s Hospice, helping to fund the vital care and support they provide to individuals and families across the region.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, or contributed in any way. Your support made the event a tremendous success and helped spread the true spirit of Christmas across our school community.
