Year 11 Information
Year 11 is a busy and important year as pupils prepare for their final examinations and begin to look ahead to life beyond school. We are committed to supporting our pupils with care, encouragement and close attention throughout this time. We do this in partnership with parents and families to help pupils stay focused, build confidence and fulfil their very best potential in these final months.
Our Year 11 page provides key information, guidance and updates to help parents and families support their child/ren during this pivotal stage in their education. Some information will also be applicable to our current Year 10 cohort, as they transition into upper Key Stage 4.
PPE (Pre Public Exams) Process
The PPE 'mocks' process runs across Year 11, and further information about what it is and how it works can be found here:
What actually IS revision?
The infographic below illustrates how revision (meaning 'to see again') is a process which should become more challenging over time. The way you are revising a subject should evolve over weeks and months to ensure you secure your knowledge, and then learn how to use and apply it:

GCSE Exam Timetable
The GCSE examinations timetable is published and available below. This includes BTEC qualifications:
JCQ Examinations - Rules
Pupils have strict rules and codes of conduct when they enter a formal, GCSE examination. The information below is from the JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) which reminds pupils of what they are not allowed to take into an examination hall, and the expectations when in exams. Please do contact school for any further information relating to this:
Exam Equipment
Being prepared for any examination is essential. See our guide for essential and subject-specific equipment to help you get organised before PPE mocks or the final, formal GCSES:
Wellbeing during Exam Season
Exams, and the workload that comes before them, can certainly feel stressful, but looking after your wellbeing can help you stay calmer, think more clearly and ensure that you can do your best.
- Eat well - always aim to eat a nutritious breakfast, and be sure to fuel your body with good food/ snack choices.
- Drink plenty of water - hydration helps concentration.
- Take breaks - short 'brain breaks' when revising (every thirty minutes or so) can help you refocus.
- Stay calm - try breathing, walking or listening to music when you feel the pressure building.
- Be prepared - make sure you have a pencil case with all your equipment, so you don't need to worry each day!
- Ask for help early - if it all feels too much, you must speak to a trusted adult. This can be at home or in school.
