Brownedge proudly hosted a vibrant and heartfelt event in honour of World Mental Health Day, bringing together pupils, staff, and families in a shared mission to raise awareness and promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the school community.
The day was filled with activities, conversations, and moments of reflection, all centred around the importance of mental health and the power of kindness.
At the heart of the day’s success were our incredible Mental Health Champions, a dedicated group of pupils who worked tirelessly to plan, promote, and lead the event. Their passion and leadership helped create an atmosphere of openness and encouragement, reminding everyone that mental health matters every day, not just on designated occasions.
Thanks to the generosity of our school community — and the enthusiastic participation of students — the event raised an outstanding £726 for Lancashire Mind, a local charity that provides vital support to children, young people, and families affected by mental health challenges. The funds will help Lancashire Mind continue their work in schools and communities across the region, offering counselling, education, and advocacy to those in need.
The event also served as a reminder of Brownedge’s ongoing commitment to mental health education and support. Through our PSHE curriculum, pastoral care, and student-led initiatives, we continue to foster a culture where wellbeing is prioritised and every voice is heard.
To everyone who donated, participated, or helped behind the scenes — thank you. Your kindness and support are helping to build a stronger, more compassionate community. Together, we are making a difference — one act of kindness at a time.
