The final week of term was marked by one of the most cherished events in the Brownedge calendar, as pupils, families, staff, and members of the wider community came together for our annual Carol Service. Held in the beautiful and atmospheric surroundings of St Mary’s Church, the evening offered a moment of peace, celebration, and togetherness at the heart of the festive season.

The service was filled with music and reflection, with pupils performing a selection of traditional and contemporary carols that echoed through the church. Their voices, accompanied at times by staff, created a moving and uplifting atmosphere that captured the true spirit of Christmas.

In addition to the musical performances, the service featured thoughtful readings and expressive dance pieces, each contributing to the story and symbolism of the season. These moments of creativity and worship showcased the talents of our pupils and highlighted the collaborative effort that goes into making the Carol Service such a special occasion each year.

The event was led with warmth and care by John, our Chaplain, whose guidance helped shape the service into a meaningful celebration for all who attended. Mr Bridges and the wider staff team also played a key role in preparing pupils and coordinating the evening, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

The school extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us—whether performing, supporting, or simply sharing in the experience. Your presence helped make the evening a memorable and joy‑filled celebration of the majesty of Christmas.
