Year 9 pupils have taken part in a memorable retreat at Castlerigg Manor, immersing themselves in an experience designed to nurture both spiritual growth and personal development. The retreat offered a rare opportunity for students to step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with themselves, their peers, and their faith.

Guided by the theme of The Wild Goose—a symbol of the Holy Spirit—the retreat encouraged pupils to explore what it means to be rooted in faith while also growing in friendship, trust, and confidence. Through a series of workshops, group reflections, and prayerful activities, students were invited to consider how the Holy Spirit inspires courage, creativity, and community.

Teachers and staff were proud to witness pupils shining brightly throughout the retreat. Many embraced new challenges, supported one another in moments of uncertainty, and demonstrated remarkable kindness and encouragement. Whether through team-building exercises, quiet reflection, or shared laughter, the retreat fostered a spirit of unity that will continue to enrich the school community long after the trip.

The school extends heartfelt thanks to the Castlerigg team for their warmth, hospitality, and guidance throughout the retreat. Their dedication created a safe and welcoming environment where pupils could flourish. Appreciation also goes to the Year 9 pupils themselves, whose enthusiasm and openness made the experience truly special.

As the pupils return to their daily routines, the lessons learned at Castlerigg—about faith, friendship, and self-discovery—will continue to resonate, shaping their journey both inside and outside the classroom.
